  • Owen Forensic Services uses the latest advancements in image technology to restore, refine and sharpen image Whether employing it to make an unusable image good, a good image better or giving a great image that extra edge, we produce unparalleled sharpening and de- blurring results.

Another aspect to verifying authenticity of images is to check the integrity of the images. Image analysis is invaluable. There is data that can be obtained from photos to verify if the image has been modified.

Photogrammetry

A forensic tool that works in conjunction with video and image clarification is Photogrammetry. Photogrammetry is defined as “the science and technology of obtaining reliable information about physical objects and their environment through the process of capturing, measuring and interpreting photographic images.” For example, a suspect’s height can be determined if there are known measurable objects in the same location where the incident took place.

Audio and Video Authentication and Tampering Analysis

Recorded evidence can be analyzed to determine whether any data has been tampered with. We use specialized software to determine whether any data has been altered, deleted, or added. All devices that record leave a “signature”. It is by examining suspicious signatures or edits that we can determine whether an audio or video has been tampered with.

Voice Comparison Analysis

Voice Comparison Analysis or speaker recognition is used to exclude or confirm an individual as the speaker on the recorded evidence. Speech can be compared and analyzed of different individuals using computer software using spectrographic and biometric analyses. Since each voice is unique to every individual, using different analyses to do forensic comparisons will provide answers that can exclude or confirm individual speakers.

Forensic Transcription

Once and audio clarification has been done, sometimes certain key phrases will still be of marginal quality. Forensic transcription is a focused transcript of words spoken.

Private Training

Each individual training course is specifically tailored to the needs of the students. All classes are completely hands on and involve real forensic case work. All courses are a week long and are the equivalent of 40 hrs. Descriptions of our curriculum can be found on our website at Private Training Overview
